Known as the director for Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, DC fans are excited and curious to see what James Gunn has in store for The Suicide Squad. However, aside from making a follow-up to David Ayer's 2016, as it turns out, Gunn also had other DC movie ideas.
Gunn recently held another Q&A on his Instagram account. This time around, a fan asked him what his second choice was for a DC movie. "I had two," Gunn wrote. "Maybe you'll find out someday (but not today.)"
As intriguing as those two projects were, it looks like the director can't reveal them yet. However, when asked if the other DC movies he had in mind already have directors attached or whether or not it's something that is yet to be announced, Gunn says both projects aren't "getting made" unless he does them, "at least not at this time."
Although Gunn didn't reveal the films he wanted to work on aside from The Suicide Squad, given his work on such comic book projects, he'd likely do a great job on whichever character he tackles. He seems to show such interest in the franchise that it is possible he'd also work on these two mystery projects soon enough.
So while fans aren't yet able to find out which two movies he has in mind, they could look forward to Gunn's The Suicide Squad which is set for release on August 6, 2021.
