The Russo Brothers Want Doctor Doom and Kraven in the MCU

The Russo Brothers may be capping off their Marvel Studios work with Avengers: Endgame, but it looks like their involvement with the MCU is far from off. The two have expressed their interest in doing a Secret Wars movie, but they have some choice villains they want to see come to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Talking to SYFY, the brothers share that they want the likes of Doctor Doom and Kraven the Hunter to come to the MCU. When it came to Victor Von Doom, Joe Russo says:

"I just love the sort of Shakespearean mythology behind him as a character, and he's another fascinating character who's had different interpretations in the books, so you could shade him in really complex ways."

As for Kraven, Russo also explains, "Kraven because I love that storyline. I think that Spider-Man/Kraven arc would be pretty amazing to see." Assuming he's talking about Kraven's Last Hunt in which the villain actually kills Spider-Man and takes his place, I'm sure they could come up with a neat way to adapt the story, maybe even have that scene where Spider-Man crawls out of his grave just like in the comics.

While we know that Doctor Doom is now free to come to the MCU with the Disney/Fox merger, the situation with Kraven could be a bit trickier. For one, it's been rumored that Sony is already working on a Kraven the Hunter film, and seeing as Venom was its own independent world, it could also mean that Spider-Man won't be clashing with Kraven either—at least not for a long while.

Personally, I'm just hoping that Sony lays all the live-action spinoffs to rest and just makes more animated Spider-Man spinoffs like Into the Spider-Verse. Then again, Venom made a lot of money and Morbius is already in the works, so we'll just have to wait and see where all this goes.
