The Recently Axed Boba Fett Spinoff Would Have Featured These Other Star Wars Favorites

Lucasfilm might have decided to abandon its Boba Fett standalone movie to focus on Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian, but if the studio decided to stick with its guns, then Star Wars fans would have probably gotten a film featuring all the different bounty hunters they've come to love in the franchise.

Entertainment Weekly has new details regarding the recently canceled Boba Fett spinoff movie, and not only does the publication offer hope for the project, but it also reveals information regarding the film's different characters. According to the report, Boba Fett wouldn't have just focused on the fan-favorite Mandalorian clone, it would have also put the spotlight on Boba's bounty hunting colleagues from The Empire Strikes Back.

There had been a lot of interesting bounty hunters in a short scene in Empire Strikes Back, and while the characters never really got their chances to shine in the original trilogy, the publication says they would have been given a chance at to have more story in Boba Fett. This, of course, includes the scaly Bosk, the wrapped Dengar, the protocol droid named 4-Lom, the tracker Zuckus, and the assassin droid IC-88. These were all the different bounty hunters that Darth Vader hired to find the Millennium Falcon through "any method necessary."

Now, with Boba Fett's fate up in the air, it remains to be seen whether these bounty hunters are going to get any attention from Lucasfilm in The Mandalorian or whether they'll have to wait for the studio to resurrect Boba Fett's standalone movie.

The Mandalorian is set to premiere with Disney's streaming service in 2019.
