The second season of The Punisher's officially on its way, and it looks like Netflix is building up the hype with a brand new teaser trailer for the series.
It's an exciting video that shows Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) and Billy "Jigsaw" Russo (Ben Barnes) gearing up for a showdown, each man prepping in a dark room filled with shadows. Not only do we get to see Frank put on his iconic skull vest as he asks the audience to let him be what he's meant to be, but we also get to see Jigsaw putting on a new mask for himself.
"I'm not the one who dies," Frank teases. "I'm the one who does the killing."
It's a pretty intense trailer that puts the focus on the Frank and Billy, characters that will eventually transform into their alter-egos in the second season of The Punisher. Fans have long since been anticipating the full transformation of Frank Castle into the vigilante that everyone's come to admire, and in a recent interview with Collider, The Punisher showrunner Steve Lightfoot promises that the character will fully adopt the mantle of the Punisher in the series' second batch of episodes.
It's going to be exciting seeing Frank go all out during the next season. There's going to be a whole lot of reckoning in The Punisher.
Of course, fans shouldn't expect a quick evolution. The season will begin with Frank going in casual attire, but as the series progresses, we'll finally get to see the character take on his signature comic book look.
The Punisher Season 2 debuts on Netflix on January 18, 2019.
