The New Mutants Star Says She’s Seen the Final Cut of the Movie

The New Mutants is finally making its ways to cinemas this year despite being locked in development limbo for years, and now the comic book movie's actress Anya Taylor-Joy can tell fans that she's just seen the final cut of the movie and that director Josh Boone is happy with the output.

Speaking in an interview with Collider during the promotional campaign for The New Mutants, the X-Men spinoff star was asked whether work on the movie has been completed. Apparently, 21st Century Fox has finished editing the film and Boone is happy with how it's turned out.

"I have seen the final cut of the movie, which was really nice because Josh is really happy with it and it was just nice to get the gang all together again," Taylor-Joy told the entertainment news outlet, "It felt like this imaginary friend that you keep telling people is real but other people haven't seen it yet, and now I'm like, 'No, I told you! It's a real thing.' I don't really know how to feel about a lot of things right now. I have five movies coming out this year and I'm just trying to eat my vegetables and go to sleep and take care of myself."

It seems like everything's all right with The New Mutants. There's a whole lot of anticipation building up over the movie. Unlike all of the other comic book movies in the X-Men franchise, The New Mutants has a horror element to it, bringing together a team of mutant heroes made up of the very first graduates from Charles Xavier's school.

The New Mutants had a whole lot of trouble making its way to cinemas the past few years. Not only did the film have production woes, but the merger between Disney and 21st Century Fox also delayed the film's release. Now, the movie finally makes its way to the big screen.

The New Mutants is set to premiere on April 3, 2020.
