The Matrix Resurrections: Jessica Henwick Addresses Possible Bugs Spin-off Project

There is little doubt that Bugs was one of the best new characters introduced in The Matrix Resurrections. After all, the hacker was the one who got Neo started on his new adventure in the fourth Matrix movie. But will we get to see more of Bugs in the future? Jessica Henwick has just addressed the possibility of returning in her own Matrix spin-off project.

In The Matrix Resurrections, Bugs is the captain of the Mnemosyne who manages to free both Morpheus and Neo. She also helps Neo in saving Trinity in the film. Needless to say, Bugs is the real MVP here and fans want to see more of the new character in the future.

So what are the chances that Bugs will get her own Matrix movie? Jessica Henwick certainly loves the idea and is eager to continue playing the character. However, she also told The Hollywood Reporter that she doesn't know what the future holds for Bugs.

"Gosh, I don’t know," Henwick pointed out. She then added that the character's story might be over but there is a possibility we'll learn more about Bugs soon.

"Bugs completed her mission. She completed her task. Obviously, the world is so rich and there are many other stories to tell," Henwick stated.

So does this mean Bugs will be back? "We’ll see, but as of now, I’ve heard nothing," Henwick said. "Bugs is just living the good life."

We would really love to see more of Bugs and maybe the other characters who played excellent new roles in The Matrix Resurrections. However, it is important to remember that the spin-off project has not yet been announced. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

It's unclear if there will be more Matrix movies. In the meantime, The Matrix Resurrections is screening in theaters and on HBO Max.
