The Mandalorian Star Bill Burr Hopes His Character Returns for Season 3

The Mandalorian has a lot of great episodes but one that stood out was The Prisoner, where veteran actor Bill Burr won over a lot of fans with his performance as Mayfield. Since the character is still alive, there's always a good chance that Mayfield will return in some sort of capacity. While the character might not be returning for The Mandalorian Season 2, Burr says he is open to returning to the hit Disney+ show.

Speaking with Movieweb, Burr joked with the website about hiding something before giving a pretty safe non-answer. Burr does point out that Mayfield seems pretty buried at the moment but he isn't dead and the actor is hoping to reprise the character in time for The Mandalorian Season 3.

Mayfield was a great wildcard character for The Mandalorian in its first season, teaming up with the character and attempting a double-cross with the not-so-silent protagonist. His dynamic with the lead provided many highlights for the episode and show in general, hence all the excitement for his possible return. Will it happen? That's up to Jon Favreau but we're sure he might have something planned.

It seems like there might not be a lot of room for Mayfield in The Mandalorian Season 2, with the possible debut of a live-action Ahsoka Tano and more bits with Moff Gideon. That's a packed season and one we're sure fans will enjoy, though it might not have that one-and-done feel the first season pulled off so well.

The Mandalorian is now available for Disney+ streaming. The Mandalorian Season 2 is expected to come out this October.
