After an explosive second season that had fans on the edge of their seats, there's no denying that The Mandalorian Season 3 had all the momentum in the galaxy heading into Season 3. Shockingly enough, the latest installment in Din Djarin and Grogu's journey didn't exactly hit the mark with fans and critics, unlike the seasons that came before it.

In fact, this season's debut episode garnered underwhelming viewership compared to its predecessor. Thankfully, the beloved Star Wars series was able to turn the tide as Season 3 progressed all the way to its conclusion, and according to new data, "Chapter 24: The Return" was a sure-fire success.

As per a recent report from Samba TV (via Bespin Bulletin), Season 3's finale surpassed Season 2's viewership with 1.4 million unique viewers tuning into the third season's culmination over the course of five days.

For comparison, "Chapter 16: The Rescue" only drew 1.1 million unique viewers. However, it's still lower compared to Season 3's premiere episode which reportedly scored a 1.5 million viewership.

Say what you will but the numbers don't lie and given how The Mandalorian's viewership still passes the 1 million mark, I think it's pretty safe to say that the show still holds the title as the Star Wars franchise's flagship program.

Of course, we can't ignore the fact that Season 3 isn't the show's strongest offering. There are a lot of nagging issues Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni must address and fix within the show heading into Season 4 in order to bring it back to its previous momentum.

I'm pretty sure that's what they're after.

Meanwhile, all three seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+.
