It seems like forever since we last saw Mando and Grogu on our streaming devices and while The Mandalorian's dynamic duo made cameo appearances in The Book of Boba Fett earlier this year, that certainly wasn't enough to satisfy the fandom's yearning for more MandoVerse action.

As it stands, speculation is running high as to when the third season of the hit Star Wars series will drop on Disney+. But the general belief within the fandom is that we're just months away from its release, thanks to all the rumors that have been swirling online. Now, it looks like we might have a definitive answer regarding the show's anticipated premiere.

Making Star Wars' Jason Ward reports that Season 3 will in fact debut in early 2023 — February 22nd, to be exact. The report also sheds new light on the show's overall plot with Din Djarin and Grogu reportedly attempting to unite the clans on Mandalore and "restore the mightiest warrior culture the Star Wars galaxy has ever known".

Ward added that he has it on good authority that the third season won't encounter delays but until Lucasfilm makes it official, things are obviously still subject to change.

Now, considering previous seasons of the show had an eight-episode count, it would be safe to assume that Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will keep things as they are but the idea of Season 3 spawning more episodes isn't exactly out of the question with the plot promising to be the most intense yet.

The first two seasons of The Mandalorian are available to stream on Disney+.
