The Mandalorian Season 3 Confirmed for 2021 Release

Though we got the release of The Mandalorian Season 2 only a year after the first season premiere, people aren't expecting the show to come back so soon, especially with the pandemic and the release of another Star Wars show, Cassian Andor. As it turns out, we could be looking at 2 Star Wars shows next year.

An ad for upcoming 2021 content for Disney+ Slovakia actually reveals that The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to come out next year. Check it out:

We don't know if this is the official plan by Lucasfilm, but it does make sense, considering that The Mandalorian has a very special set-up when it comes to shooting the pandemic, what with the main star and most of the background characters wearing masks, and the new screen tech allowing for shooting in multiple locations in just one place.

Not to mention it was a stroke of genius to have the Mando wear his helmet at all times. That means they can shoot multiple scenes with the main character at the same time, and all Pascal has to do is provide the voice in post-production. Director Bryce Dallas Howard didn't even meet Pascal when she shot the Sanctuary episode.

As for the Cassian Andor series, it was said to have been in the middle of production when lockdown started, and the show has always been expected to come out in 2021; 2022 would be the release of the Kenobi miniseries. While it seemed that Disney wanted at least one Star Wars show a year, I think 2 would be completely doable at this state.

In the meantime, we can catch the second season of The Mandalorian now on Disney+.
