The Mandalorian has always been a show centered on Din Djarin and Grogu's galactic adventures, at least that's what many of us thought. After two riveting seasons, the hit Star Wars series has made drastic changes to its creative direction, with Bo-Katan Kryze seemingly being at the forefront of things while Din and Grogu take the sidelines, much to the chagrin of fans.

Well, it appears that despite the show's title alluding to Mando as its central protagonist, the plan was to eventually shift the show's focus to the Mandalorian people, something that started manifesting in Season 3.

Executive producer Rick Famuyiwa says that the show no longer belongs to Din Djarin for the simple reason that there are other Mandalorians aside from him. Addressing the fans' concern about the show turning Din into an afterthought, the director told IGN: "I think that's been interesting as we've been on the journey of the show, and now that we're at this point, is that, what does that title mean?"

He continued: "I think now with Bo possessing the Darksaber, I know that there was a lot of expectations that might have shifted both in terms of what it meant for Din Djarin, but also for Bo and what does it mean?"

Famuyiwa ended his statement by saying that The Mandalorian could be anyone other than just Din. "Who is the Mandalorian at this point? And so I think it could be anyone. And I think that's what they're trying to define in many ways, is what does that mean to be Mandalorian?"

The sudden shift in The Mandalorian's narrative shouldn't come as a surprise when you think about it because the MandoVerse is something that was always meant to evolve.
