Fans were hopeful that The Mandalorian Season 3's finale will answer some of the burning questions past episodes have left unaddressed. The biggest of them all involves Moff Gideon and a certain "spy" who many have been speculating for weeks as the one who helped him get out of the ship en route to Coruscant.
The Armorer and Axe Woves are suspected to be potential characters who have been doing Gideon's bidding and while there were moments in Chapter 24 that seemed to indicate that the grand reveal was about to happen, no actual spy was unveiled much to the surprise of viewers.
In Episode 23, fans were convinced that The Armorer and Axe conveniently fled Mandalore just when Gideon and his minions were about to strike the surviving tribes. Well, that wasn't the case and the two came back with reinforcement.
Even when Moff Gideon "died" (we'd like to think he did) during the episode's hair-raising moments, we never learn details about his escape and who helped him forge his beskar armor.

The whole "spy" thing might have just been a huge plot diversion all along but it's quite frustrating how the finale wasn't able to provide viewers some clarity with regard to Gideon's Mandalore takeover.
Judging by previous episodes, we can still safely assume that there's in fact a traitor looming somewhere in the Outer Rim. Hopefully, it actually gets answered in the next season because it would be a massive let down if they just simply explained that Gideon was skilled enough to forge beskar.
