There's been a lot of chatter regarding The Mandalorian's third season and how it actually holds up compared to its predecessors. You see, many believe that Season 3 started off in such an underwhelming fashion compared to the first two seasons and as the show progressed, fans noticed a decline in the show's quality.

Still, there was hope that the finale will be able to redeem the show from what has been seen by many as a lackluster season. Well, Chapter 24, titled "The Return" pretty much caught viewers off guard, especially with that unexpected conclusion.

Coming out of last week's explosive episode, fans were already expecting Chapter 24 to end with a major bang and maybe even feature several character deaths. While the finale did see some hair-raising moments and didn't skimp out on the action, Mando diehards weren't prepared for this season's closing moments.

After finally defeating Moff Gideon and decimating his Imperial base in Mandalore, Din Djarin asks The Armorer to officially turn Grogu into his Mandalorian apprentice.

Initially hesitant, The Armorer ultimately grants Din's request, making Grogu one of their kind. This comes with a consequence though because now that the Child has been given a new path, he and Din must leave Mandalore to go on a different adventure.

We later see Din and Grogu meet with Carson Teva and he disclosed his plans of wanting to work under the New Republic. They then head back to Nevarro where Greef Karga gifts them their own home and that's how Season 3 ends.

Obviously, Chapter 24's wholesome ending wasn't what the fans expected to see but I gotta say, it's quite refreshing to see our heroes finally take a break from all the mayhem. Well, at least for now.
