There is little doubt that Pedro Pascal is one of the main reasons why The Last of Us has been a huge success for the past two months. After all, his performance as Joel has been truly amazing and has been drawing more people to watch the HBO series. But is it possible that we won't see a lot of the Mandalorian star in the second season? Bella Ramsey may have confirmed that Pascal will have a smaller role to play in The Last of Us Season 2.

Bella Ramsey was recently a guest on The Last of Pods podcast where she spoke about working on the second season.

“I’m really excited. It still feels surreal to me that it’s going to go again. But also… I don’t want to go into it comparing it to the experience of the first season… Season 1 of The Last of Us was like the best year of my life and it’s not gonna be the same. So I just have to go into it being like, ‘This is Season 2 and I loved Season 1, but this is going to be different,’” Ramsey said. She then added that she is looking forward to working with the crew soon.

“I just want to be back in Canada with Craig Mazin, and Pedro for a little bit. It’s gonna be really nice. I’m really excited,” Ramsey said.

Not surprisingly, the "little bit" part she added when speaking about Pedro Pascal immediately became a cause for concern for fans. After all, people are still expecting A LOT of Joel in the second season. Although it's possible that Ramsey was simply referring to the total amount of time she will spend on filming Season 2, it's also not unlikely that Joel will only appear briefly in the next season.

The Last of Us Episode 9 will premiere on HBO Max on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
