The Last of Us Creator Teases Abby's Season 2 Debut

It's the first weekend without a new episode of The Last of Us and fans are understandably feeling down. However, Neil Druckmann wants to make sure people are still hyped up about the show's second season. The video game creative director shared a new image teasing the arrival of an important character in The Last of Us Season 2.

Neil Druckmann took to his official Twitter account to contemplate the fact that there is no new episode of The Last of Us this Sunday. Still, the image shared by the series co-creator was a clear reference to one of the strongest characters who appeared in The Last of Us Part II.

The image he shared featured a finely-muscled forearm gripping a hammer. It's an obvious reference to Abby Anderson, who is expected to finally make her live-action debut in The Last of Us Season 2.

"No TLoU on HBO tonight. But Season 2 is already on its way! Endure & survive!" Druckmann wrote in the caption.

It didn't take long before fans began commenting on Neil Druckmann's post. Some hyped up Abby's casting, begging the show to cast Shannon Berry as the video game character. Others also expressed their excitement for Abby's arrival and the role she will play in the second season. Needless to say, we can't wait to see Abby in action in The Last of Us Season 2.

But when exactly can we expect to see the second season? According to Bella Ramsey, it might be a long wait. The former Game of Thrones star pointed out that the series might not return until late next year.

"It will be a while," Ramsey said. "I think we'll probably shoot at the end of this year, beginning of next. So it'll probably be the end of 2024, early 2025."

The Last of Us Season 2 has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
