Ever since Suicide Squad, WB has been notorious for studio meddling, and for a whole films have come out entirely different from what the directors have originally intended. With Joker being one big risk for the studio, it's actually a relief to know that they mostly kept the movie intact.

Of course, with October still months away, there's still a big chance that there could be some changes to the movie, but for now, I think everything is looking good. Trailer response was great, and it looks like most fans are onboard for this grittier take on the Clown Prince of Crime.
I guess the only way they can ruin it is if they forced this movie to become a franchise or tell the director to connect this version of Joker to the larger DCEU.
With this movie happening in its own separate timeline, a lot of fans are hoping that this opens doors for more experimental DC movies going forward. With the MCU basically pumping out films based on their tried and tested formula, I want to see some more of these experimental films from DC. Give us Red Son Superman or Batman: Crimson Mist.
