The Joker Gets Run Over in New Set Video

Just recently we got some set photos of Joaquin Phoenix's Joker on the run from cops, and now a set video has leaked online which gives us a good look at the entire chase sequence.

There's a lot of interesting things you'll notice from the video. For one, when the Joker bumps into an ongoing passerby, he's stunned for a moment that the man has a clown face on. My guess is that this is going to be a mark of the Joker's insanity, and it will be delved into in the film.

We also see that Shea Whigham's cop character is calling the Joker "Arthur!" while he's chasing him. In the world of Batman, it's common knowledge that we know nothing about the Joker before his accident, not even his identity, so I have a feeling something is going to happen to Whigham's character by the end of the film so that absolutely no one will know who the Joker is really. I also have a feeling that he had a prior connection to Arthur Fleck before he decided to become the Clown Prince of Crime.

The clip ends with Joker running up some stairs, possibly leading to a train. This then adds another puzzle piece to the set videos that we've been getting, with the Joker jumping into a train, starting a riot, and walking out calmly with the cops running past him.

Catch Joker when it hits theaters Oct. 4, 2019.
