The premiere episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier delivered a lot of shocking revelations about Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and the fate of the Captain America character. But arguably the most shocking of them all has something to do with the deceased Tony Stark aka Iron Man who apparently doesn't pay his colleagues from the Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

In "New World Order", it was revealed that Sam and his sister Sarah are trying to apply for a bank loan to help sustain their family business. The bank would turn down their loan application due to Wilson's lack of salary. This revelation comes as surprise to a lot of people as the general belief is that being part of the Avengers is an actual paying job and not just a gig the heroes do for charity.

Naturally, this new bit of information upset a lot of Marvel fans and they stormed Twitter in an attempt to "cancel" Stark. Yup, a fictional character who is already dead in the MCU is getting a ton of heat from the internet. On the flip side, there are also fans who are coming to the billionaire's defense. See some of the reactions here:

To Stark's defense, even though he apparently does not provide salaries for his fellow heroes, he's made sure to give his teammates everything they need — from a private compound to all the cool technology in the world. Now, the reason why the Avengers aren't getting paid for their good deeds is a question that totally needs to be answered. Hopefully, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier addresses it in the coming episodes.

The next episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will stream this Friday on Disney+.
