We're still a few months away from the release of The Flash but the DC flick is already creating a positive buzz online which is all the more surprising, especially considering how its lead star Ezra Miller has been involved in some pretty controversial stuff.

Reports claim that the test screening results for the film have been nothing short of spectacular, so much so that it's drawing comparisons to Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight. The film is also said to have changed its third act and a new rumor suggests that a familiar face will return during the closing moments of the anticipated film.

According to The Weekly Planet's Nick Mason and James Clement, The Flash's post-credits scene will see Barry Allen approaching Bruce Wayne but instead of it being Michael Keaton or Ben Affleck, it will actually be George Clooney's version of the character.

Of course, many of you are aware that Clooney once donned the cape and cowl but the end results left nothing to be desired. Earlier this year, rumors circulated that the Batman & Robin star will be cast as the DCU's Dark Knight but DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn quickly put an end to the speculation.

Clooney making an appearance in The Flash makes complete sense given the film's multiversal plot. While there may be fans who won't like his potential inclusion in the project, I definitely wouldn't mind seeing him reprise his Batman role and be given his own redemption arc similar to Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

One thing's for certain, George Clooney's return to the Batman character will generate quite a reaction from the DCU fandom.

DC's The Flash is hitting cinemas on June 16.
