The Flash Producer Confirms That Movie Has Not Been Canceled By WB

It's official. Warner brothers has no intention of canceling The Flash despite the controversy surrounding Barry Allen star Ezra Miller.

Last week, a video of Miller choking a fan began circulating online, sparking major backlash against the DC Extended Universe star. The controversy stoked major concern for The Flash movie – multiple reports posited that Warner Brothers would cancel the project after hearing of Miller's poor response to an overbearing group of fans.

Now, it looks like The Flash producer has countered these reports.

A DC fan just recently asked The Flash producer Barbara Muschietti whether she and her husband's team, director Andy Muschietti, had already begun working on the DC project.

The producer's answer was short and candid.

It seems like Warner Brothers is pushing through with the film despite all of the backlash against Miller. Barbara Muschietti, however, does not go into detail about the project. While we're certain that Miller will reprise his role as Barry Allen, there have been reports that DC may have Miller replaced in the movie, perhaps with Wally West. It doesn't sound entirely impossible considering that The Flash has been said to feature the Flashpoint narrative arc from DC Comics.

For those who aren't familiar with this comic book arc, Flashpoint was a major event in the DC Comics Universe where Barry Allen inadvertently resets the timeline for the entire universe when he tries to travel back in time to save his mother. Superman ends up becoming a government secret, Wonder Woman goes up against Aquaman, and Bruce Wayne ends up dead with Thomas Wayne taking on the role of Batman.

The Flash is set to release on July 1, 2022.
