Season 8 of The Flash will be kicking off with a five-part event titled Armageddon and the show finally finds the perfect DC Villain to portray Despero as they cast Doctor Who star Tony Curran known for playing Vincent Van Gogh in the BBC series, and in the shows Underworld: Evolution, Roots, and Netflix historical epic Outlaw King.
The Scottish actor, Tony Curran, has been reported by Deadline to fill in the role of Despero, a known DC villain from the comics, and they have confirmed that Curran is already seen on the set of The Flash as the filming is currently ongoing for Season 8.
Despero is known in the comics as the telepathic alien who hails from the planet of Kalanor, and he possesses a genius intellect having a third eye on his forehead doing the mind control for him. He also has the abilities to wield illusions, telekinesis, and telepathy making him a formidable villain. He is empowered by the "Flame of Py'tar" which gives him the mystical source of his powers.

From the Flame of Py'tar, he could draw superhuman abilities of speed, durability, strengths, reflexes, and capability to alter his biomass making him bite-sized to as massive as he could be, even giving him the ability to reintegrate himself in each of his molecules. The source he has is so strong, he could wield psionic energy and even manipulate reality to a certain degree fleshing out monsters and demons from Earth.
Armageddon would be the perfect arrival for a villain like Despero as the logline and the synopsis of the five-part event kicking-off Season 8 of The Flash fits for a powerful villain-slash-alien to arrive on Earth and wreak havoc.
Despero is set to arrive as The Flash will make his return on November 16, 2021, with Armageddon, the five-part event that will grace Season 8 of the series, at 7 PM CT/ 8 PM EST, its usual timeslot on the cable channel of The CW.
