The Flash is getting a ton of hype as of late but sadly, the unexpected adulation the forthcoming DC (Extended) Universe film has been generating isn't enough for fans to hand lead star Ezra Miller his flowers.

As it stands, the controversial star is said to be "completely focused" on his mental health recovery. Last year, the Justice League actor sought treatment for his nagging issues, something that WB Discovery and DC Studios seem to be happy about.

Now, The Flash's production designer is coming to the actor's defense and he believes audiences will forget about his troublesome past when the DC film finally hits cinemas.

Speaking with CBC, Paul Austerberry praised Ezra's performance in the anticipated flick and even went as far as saying that "people will forget" the slew of controversies that plagued his personal and professional life over the last number of years.

That's a bold statement coming from Austerberry but it isn't as easy as it seems. You see, despite Miller's conscious effort to reform, he has yet to directly address the allegations thrown at him, let alone apologize for his scandals.

His public perception still hasn't changed and it doesn't really matter if his The Flash performance is stellar because, at the end of the day, a lot of people still want him to pay for his misdemeanors.

With the film's promo tour set to kickstart in a couple of weeks, it'll be interesting to see if Ezra will be part of it. WB Discovery has undeniably backed themselves into a corner on this one.

DC's The Flash is set to hit cinemas on June 16.
