The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Could Be Looking at More Weeks of Prod Despite Anthony Mackie’s Update

A lot of people thought that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was going to be delayed this year, but recent comments from star Anthony Mackie have led some to believe that the series could be close to wrapping. Too bad though, because it looks Mackie could have been misunderstood.

Let's look at Mackie's quote from last week first:

"I'm happy to say we are not cancelled. We are on hold. We're going back hopefully sometime soon and finish it up, we have very little stuff to do. I'm very happy with it. We have a little more to go back to do. But everybody rest assured, it will come out."

While some thought this meant that the show was very close to wrapping up, Murphy's Multiverse has come out to clarify that despite Mackie's statement, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier could be looking at several, more weeks of shooting. Multiple sources have indicated that TFATWS has at least 3 more weeks to go, and even Sebastian Stan had confirmed this last month.

It's also worth noting that despite the allotted two weeks, there is still the matter of COVID-19 to consider. While some places have slowly started opening up, the pandemic is still all around and it's possible we could be looking at a second wave if production isn't too careful.

Then again, maybe Mackie was just talking about himself when he was saying there was little stuff to do. It's possible these further weeks of production will have something to do with Sebastian Stan or some other stunt people.

For now, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is stills set to come out August on Disney+.
