Earlier this year, The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has lobbied for a role on The Boys, saying that he'll "play" with the gang "anytime." Showrunner Eric Kripke gave a positive response, saying that he'll even write Morgan a role for Season 3. Now, it looks like things are heading in the right direction, with Kripke revealing that Morgan could eventually join the cast.

"I absolutely have," Kripke told Collider when asked if they've given Morgan's request a thought. "There's one role we're already talking about."

"He has to, uh, we have to like coordinate. Because you know, he's on The Walking Dead, so he has another home," the showrunner added. "But we already talked about one role, and there might be a potential other that we're talking about."

Kripke then revealed that he and Morgan were "texting back and forth" this past week, talking about how they could get the actor on the show. That being said, he pointed out that it's not a done deal yet, but "the will is there, and we're both talking about it."

While Kripke clarifies that there hasn't been an official decision yet, with the show's gritty dark humor and its overall vibe, there's no doubt that Morgan would fit right in the series. The question is which character would be the perfect fit for him.

The first three episodes of The Boys Season 2 will premiere on Amazon Prime on September 4. The remaining five episodes will then air every week after the premiere.
