The Boys Season 3 Episode 1: Watch out for the first 15 minutes

Kripke discussed the opening scene of The Boys Season 3 in a recent interview with SFX Magazine. Before detailing the process of putting sequences like that together, the showrunner hyped the first 15 minutes as the craziest sequence pretty much any show has ever done.

"One tease I can say is, in the first 15 minutes of episode one we have not just the craziest sequence we have ever done, but the craziest sequence pretty much anybody has ever done,” Kripke said. “It's so jaw-droppingly insane. It's so much fun. It's the best job I have ever had, to think about this stuff.”

The Boys, based on the comic series of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, has gained critical and commercial acclaim for its outrageous take on the superhero genre.

Hughie Campbell, Billy Butcher, and their eponymous squad of anti-superhero vigilantes strive to expose Vought International, the multibillion-dollar business that licenses corrupt and abusive "Supes" in the TV-MA series.

Season 2 raised the ante in almost every way possible after the series' surprising, hilarious, and hugely successful first season.

Given the number of risks taken in 2020, The Boys Season 3 Episode 1 is set to hit the ball out of the park when it releases on June 3.

Its cast includes Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, and Claudia Doumit.

The Boys Season 3 trailers have shown plenty of mayhem, social satire, and the inclusion of a form of Compound-V that turns Butcher and the Boys into Supes for 24 hours. Already, it appears that the new season will be surprising, inappropriate, disturbing, and tremendously hilarious.
