The Boys Season 2 Star Says Homelander's Attempt at Being a Father Could Confirm Vulnerability

One of the most shocking things about the first season of The Boys was the revelation that Becca Butcher is still alive and has been raising Homelander's child. So will having a son actually change the Supe? Antony Starr claims that the character's relationship with the boy could reveal Homelander's vulnerability in The Boys Season 2.

Starr recently spoke to Comicbook.com where he admitted that Homelander is eager to spend more time with the child and it could actually expose the Supe's soft side.

"Initially that he is not built to be a parent, at least not a good one," Starr said. "Then I think, you know, the good thing about that relationship is because it challenges Homelander so much, you know, he's forced into a situation where he's got to adapt and he's got to discover some new layers to himself, so there's a lot that comes out of that relationship and maybe, maybe even a hint of vulnerability."

That's something that we've already glimpsed at in the first three episodes of The Boys Season 2. Unfortunately, Homelander's effort to mentor the boy doesn't go as well as planned as Ryan somehow challenges him in the episode Over the Hill with the Swords of a Thousand Men. Could this lead to disaster in the rest of the series? We'll have to wait until next week to find out.

The first three episodes of The Boys Season 2 are currently available for streaming on Amazon Prime. The succeeding episodes will air on a weekly basis.
