The Batman: Zack Snyder Bids Farewell to Batfleck

It's been recently confirmed that Ben Affleck is done playing Batman for the DCEU, and WB is now looking for someone younger to take on the role for Matt Reeves' The Batman. Zack Snyder, who was essential in getting Affleck to cast in the first place, has taken to Vero to bid goodbye to his version of Batman.

While Snyder had a definite plan on where he wanted to take his DCEU, several unfortunate events lead to him leaving the franchise. After the mixed reception of Batman v Superman, Snyder had to leave work on Justice League after the death of his daughter—leaving everything to Joss Whedon.

For now, Snyder is getting to work on a horror film called Army of the Dead. It is worth noting, though, that he has been a lot more open about his version of Justice League recently. He shared a photo of the Flash in a costume we never saw, and now he's opening up about his opinion on Batfleck leaving the franchise.

Undoubtedly, there have been a lot of fans who want WB to release the Snyder cut of Justice League, and Snyder himself has been aware of this. For now it seems that WB had put the entire Snyder-era of the DCEU behind them, but hopefully, they'll give the fans what they want in the long run. Maybe they can throw in the original cut of Suicide Squad as well before they messed up with David Ayer's vision.

The next film in the franchise is Shazam! and it hits theaters April 5. The Batman comes out on June 25, 2021.
