The Batman: Peter Sarsgaard Teases Interesting Details About DC Film's Tone

There aren't a lot of details about The Batman right now but Peter Sarsgaard may have revealed something truly interesting about the upcoming Robert Pattinson flick. The Orphan star shared a few notes about the tone of the highly anticipated Matt Reeves movie.

Sarsgaard recently attended the Television Critics Association press tour where he spoke about his latest project (via Comicbook.com). First, he admitted that he was excited about working with Reeves and the cast.

"Matt directing this Batman [is exciting]. The cast is so awesome. It seems different from other Batman movies to me, just with the cast," Sarsgaard said.

That's not the only thing that's different about The Batman. Sarsgaard went on by comparing the film to a song by The Pixies.

"There's something about it that has an edge, it's young. To me, just my perception of it, it reminds me of when I was in college, and I went to go see The Pixies play, and looking around and feeling the vibe at a Pixies concert," Sarsgaard said. "That's what it felt like to me, a song like I Bleed. That it has the energy and that sort of thing, and isn't so specifically targeted to a very young audience, or a very old audience, but has that power of chaos in it."

It's an interesting comparison considering that I Bleed has a dark, melancholic sound. You can check it out below.

For now, it sounds like we can expect an interesting new tone in The Batman. Hopefully, we'll get to find out more about it in the future.

The Batman is currently in pre-production and is scheduled for release June 25, 2021.
