The Void Striders are reptavian creatures with long legs and tall, thin necks. They dwell on the planet Abafar.

They usually roam in herds across the Void and they can detect water using their hypersensitive sonar system. They also had capillary systems that made their unusual behaviors possible.

The creatures made their first appearance in The Clone Wars episode titled "A Sunny Day in the Void," which is George Lucas' favorite.

Twelve years after the creatures made their debut, they finally appeared again in the recent Bad Batch episode titled "A Different Approach."

The Void Striders showed up in a brief easter egg appearance during a pivotal moment in "A Different Approach" where Omega and Crosshair tried to rescue Batcher from an Imperial captain.

The duo realized that an animal smuggling operation was taking place. During a confrontation with the stormtroopers, Omega pressed a button that freed all the animals that were caged.

Among the many creatures and animals that were escaping were the Void Stroiders. Some fans consider it as an easter egg to Lucas' favorite Clone Wars episode.

Here are some of the reactions from fans on X who were delighted with the Void Striders' appearance.

It is certainly a great surprise for many Star Wars fans who have been following the animated shows and perhaps it is a nod to Lucas himself since he is a huge fan of the episode where they originated.

For now, let's wait and see whether they will make more appearances in the rest of the season or if this is just a one-off easter egg that rewards long-time fans.
