What Is The Apothecary Diaries All About?
The Apothecary Diaries is a slice-of-life, historical anime full of court drama.
Maomao is a 17-year-old girl in ancient China, who was captured and taken into the imperial court as an indentured servant.
The young girl manages to keep her pragmatic spirit, hoping for her years of servitude to pass.
When the emperor's children fall ill, Maomao uses her knowledge as a pharmacist in a poor red-light district to save their lives.
This causes a high-ranking eunuch to recognize her gift in medicine and give her a place in the inner court, where she will solve many medical mysteries.

Will The Apothecary Diaries Be Dubbed in English?
From early on in the Fall 2023 anime season, Crunchyroll revealed that The Apothecary Diaries would be part of its English dub lineup.
A dub was always in the cards for the anime, as the dub release date section used to appear as "TBA", suggesting that there were plans for it to eventually come out in English.
The Apothecary Diaries is reasonably popular, with a three-episode premiere and a trailer that rocked fans' world on social media. The next few episodes do not disappoint either.
The Apothecary Diaries English Dub Release Date Confirmed
The Apothecary Diaries' English dub started airing on the 4th of November 2023, with the three-episode premiere being dubbed in its entirety.
In the past three or so years, dubs have been significantly delayed due to the pandemic.
Many dubbed versions tend to premiere as soon as two weeks after the first episode has come out in original Japanese. This turned out to be the case with The Apothecary Diaries.
Each week, a new English dubbed episode will drop on Crunchyroll, next to a new episode in Japanese.
Will The Apothecary Diaries Be Translated Into Other Languages?
Right now, no other language dub, aside from English, has been confirmed for The Apothecary Diaries.
As such, it'll be a while before we know for sure if it will get dubbed in any language other than English.
Dubs are becoming increasingly accessible, with Crunchyroll featuring dubs in many languages such as Hindi and Spanish.
No matter where one stands in the subbed vs. dubbed debate, this can only be good, as it brings anime to as many viewers as possible.
