The Marvel Cinematic Universe's third Spider-Man film was home to several brilliant moments but what's been generating the most buzz as of late is Andrew Garfield's emotional comeback and how Spider-Man: No Way Home finally helped him redeem himself from the ultra-divisive The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Garfield's brief but memorable performance in No Way Home was enough to convince fans that he deserves another shot at playing the web-slinger and if the latest rumors are to be believed, it looks like Sony Pictures, with the backing of Marvel Studios is putting the idea into consideration.

Amid all the hype No Way Home has been creating, both studios have yet to address the rumors surrounding Garfield's potential future as Spider-Man but in an intriguing turn of events, it appears that Garfield's stunt double may be dropping hints about plans for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

William Spencer recently set the social media world ablaze after he reacted to recent rumors of The Amazing Spider-Man 3 being in development at Sony. On Instagram, Spencer responded to a fan who congratulated him on "getting the call" to do TASM 3 and simply said thank you, seemingly confirming all the reports that have been circulating all over the internet.

Honestly, I'm all for Andrew completing his trilogy and getting his true Spidey redemption arc. I mean, No Way Home pretty much proved that he still has a lot to offer as Spider-Man and it'll be great to see the studio explore the emotional turmoil he went through following the death of Gwen Stacy. I remain incredibly hopeful that it'll actually happen.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now showing in cinemas worldwide.
