The Acolyte Star Teases Star Wars Series Is ‘Unlike Anything You’ve Seen Before'

After The Mandalorian Season 3 comes to an end, Star Wars: The Acolyte is on the list for the next highly anticipated live-action series in the Lucasfilm slate. The Sith-focused series is not set to follow any pre-existing Star Wars characters nor will it be a part of the Mandoverse, which already sets the series unique from the rest of the series Lucasfilm has done so far. Now, Jodie Turner-Smith even teases that the series is all worth its hype.

“I can tell you that what Leslye Headland has done inside of this IP is unlike anything that we’ve seen before from Star Wars.” Turner-Smith said in a recent interview with Screen Rant while promoting Murder Mystery 2.

The to-be The Acolyte star continued on to say: “And I got to play a really amazing, powerful character who I’m really proud of, and under the guidance of one of my favorite directors Kogonada in these two episodes. You are going to see something really amazing.”

Previously, Turner-Smith had also shared cryptic details on what her mystery character is like on The Acolyte series: “I didn’t get to use a lightsaber… but I did… not get to use a lightsaber.” She added, “Because I’m not a Jedi!”

The Acolyte is set off into the far, far future, but Turner-Smith was more than happy to hype up on her upcoming Star Wars show: “It’s different when everything that you’re doing is light-hearted and that’s not what I was doing for Star Wars,” which already indicates the darker theme for the series, “It is incredible to see. I can’t wait to see how this show turns out.”

The Acolyte cast also includes Lee Jung-Jae, Dean-Charles Chapman, Dafne Keen, Jodie Turner-Smith, Margarita Levieva, Manny Jacinto, Charlie Barnett, and Carrie-Anne Moss.

The new Disney+ series, The Acolyte, has yet to receive an official release date, but is expected to premiere sometime in 2024. For now, you can check out more details about this series by clicking here.
