The Star Wars franchise boasts an impressive roster of actors — from A-listers to award-winning stars but if there's one personality fans have been dying to see make his way to a galaxy far, far away, it's undoubtedly Keanu Reeves.

The actor has long been on the fans' radar when it comes to dream Star Wars castings and over the last couple of years, there have been persistent rumors linking Reeves to the beloved science-fiction property.

While Keanu hasn't been vocal about his desire (or lack thereof) to become part of the franchise, many are convinced that he'd be the perfect choice to play Darth Revan in live-action, a character that has also long been rumored to be making his re-entry to the Star Wars canon.

Well, it looks like we're a step closer to seeing Reeves in a Star Wars project, and according to a new report, he's already been cast in an upcoming series.

Forbes released an interesting report regarding The Acolyte earlier this week, claiming that Hollywood icon Keanu Reeves will appear in the upcoming project.

Contributor Caroline Reid reveals the star of The Matrix and John Wick's involvement in the show, writing: "Perhaps the biggest name amongst its ranks only came to light a few days ago when it was revealed that Keanu Reeves will have a cameo in the show."

The outlet didn't go into detail about what role Reeves could potentially play in the series but considering it came from a pretty reputable source, there's a strong chance it could end up being true.

But of course, as exciting as the rumor is, it wouldn't hurt if you take this one with a huge grain of salt.

The real question is, will Keanu play Darth Revan in the show? It's worth noting that the fan-favorite character existed centuries before the events of The Acolyte but that's not to say that he can't appear in flashback and vision sequences.

No official release window has been set for The Acolyte but the series is expected to drop sometime in 2024 on Disney+.
