Tenet Star John David Washington Wants to be Fantastic Four's Reed Richards in MCU

There is little doubt that John David Washington is currently hot property after his stunning performance in Christopher Nolan's Tenet. So what are the chances that Washington will do a comic book movie? The BlacKkKlansman star has just admitted that he's interested in playing Reed Richards in the Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of Fantastic Four.

Washington recently spoke to Nerd Reactor where he was asked if he would be interested in playing a superhero. Not surprisingly, the former football running back confessed that he'd like to do a comic book film although he's still undecided on which role he should play.

"There's so many," Washington admitted. "I think it depends on who's asking, what director wants to do it with me. We'll see, I want to stay open. I don't want to box myself in."

It sounds like a safe answer but when questioned on whether he would consider playing Mr. Fantastic in the MCU if he was asked by Marvel boss Kevin Feige, Washington was delighted with the idea.

"Wow, I'd say, 'Well, thank you for having me, thank you for taking this meeting where do I sign?" Washington said.

It's still a non-committal response but it also had fans loving the thought that Reed would be portrayed by a promising talent. For now, Marvel Studios has not yet cast Mr. Fantastic for the Fantastic Four reboot but we wouldn't be surprised if they tap Washington for the role.
