Tenet Star John David Washington Reacts to Being Cast as Green Lantern

In case you missed it, Christopher Nolan has admitted that he would like to see Tenet star John David Washington as the new Green Lantern. But what are the chances that Washington will land the awesome role in an upcoming DC Extended Universe flick? The actor has just responded to the possibility of playing a superhero.

It was previously reported that Nolan believes Washington is the best candidate to play the superhero. "I think my DC days are over," the director said. "But I think he would be an excellent choice. He certainly gets my vote." But what does Washington think about the idea?

Washington recently spoke to Comicbook.com and admitted that he is interested in joining a comic book movie franchise.

"Yeah, bring it on, man," Washington said. However, he was also quick to point out that he has not yet been called by DC or any other major franchise like Marvel.

"I never had a conversation, they don't really reach out to me," Washington said.

It might be too soon to expect Warner Bros. to start casting Green Lantern but it wouldn't be a surprise if Washington is already in their radar. After all, he has just starred in a film directed by Nolan who has previously worked on the Dark Knight trilogy. In addition to that, Washington may have gotten some awesome advice from the new Batman Robert Pattinson, who also appeared in Tenet.

For now, we have yet to get some confirmation about Washington being considered for the role of Green Lantern. In the meantime, you can see him in action in Tenet, which hits theaters on September 4.
