Boba Fett's triumphant return to a galaxy far, far away was met with roaring approval from the Star Wars fandom, and understandably so. Unfortunately, Lucasfilm failed to capitalize on the famed bounty hunter's momentum and he was soon relegated to being a side character even in his own show.
Actor Temuera Morrison hasn't been shy about airing his grievances and during a recent convention appearance, the Star Wars icon cast doubt on him reprising the character he played in The Mandalorian Season 2 and The Book of Boba Fett.
At the SUPANOVA Comic Con & Gaming convention in Melbourne, Australia (via MSN), the New Zealand star didn't hold back, claiming that Disney could end up jeopardizing his return to Star Wars.
Morrison claims that major "cutbacks" are happening behind the scenes over at the House of Mouse and it could very well have an impact on his future as Boba. He said: "I think there is a few changes going on. We also come under the big umbrella known as 'Disney' now, too."
He continued: "So it's one of the last few conversations we had in L.A. The conversation started like, 'Oh, look we're having a few changes. We're having a few cutbacks.' And when you hear that at the other end of the line, it's no good trying to negotiate any more money that's for sure. So we'll see what happens."

Morrison didn't go into detail regarding Disney's alleged cutbacks but if there's some truth to what he's saying, this could very well shed some light as to why several key characters, including Boba, were missing in The Mandalorian's third season.
As for Boba's future in the franchise, despite his Season 3 absence, I don't think Lucasfilm will let go of the actor that easily. Hopefully though, he'll go back to his badass ways.
