Teaser Poster for X-Men: Dark Phoenix Drops 'X-Men' from the Title

X-Men: Dark Phoenix has been delayed to next year, but that doesn't mean we won't get any teasers for the film soon. The teaser poster has found its way online, and it looks like the movie will be dropping X-Men from the title.

Of course, it's possible that dropping the name is just a creative tool for the teaser. You can still see the emphasis on the "X" in the poster. No doubt we'll get an official poster featuring all the characters' faces as well as the "X-Men" title. You can't risk losing the audience draw that the X-Men name has.

It's also worth noting that for months the Deadpool 2 posters as well as the trailers didn't have titles until it was decided that the film would be called Deadpool 2 a few months before release. I guess I was kind of refreshing to see something different with upcoming movie posters.

For now, Dark Phoenix is said to be undergoing extensive reshoots to redo the entire third act. We don't know what's happening to Simon Kinberg behind the helm of that movie, but I'm crossing my fingers that this will be the last entry in the FOX X-Men franchise.

I just want the MCU to take care of things moving forward.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is slated for a release on Feb. 14, 2019.
