Fans believe Taylor Swift may have hinted that she and her longtime boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, have broken up through her Eras Tour setlist. Instead of including her love letter, “Invisible String,” to her now ex-boyfriend during her March 31 performance in Arlington, Texas, she replaced it with “The 1.”
Swifties and fans alike were surprised by the news that Swift and Alwyn had broken up after a lengthy six-year relationship.

A fan posted a TikTok video of herself crying to “The 1” lyrics, “It would’ve been fun if you would’ve been the one.”
“Realizing why Taylor switched out invisible string for the 1,” she captioned the post via Page Six.
“This was not the Easter egg I was hoping for this weekend,” another wrote in a different post.

“Changing invisible string to the 1 may have been more intentional then [sic] we thought but i also refuse to believe its true,” the caption read.
“Realizing the breakup might be why Taylor switched the setlist from invisible string to the 1,” a third fan said.

A source allegedly close to Swift and Alwyn confirmed to Page Six Saturday, April 8, that the pair had broken up.
“It wasn’t dramatic,” the insider said.
The split had allegedly happened a few weeks ago, and the former pair had no bad blood between them.
“[The relationship] just ran its course,” the tipster added.

The out has reached out to the two stars but hasn’t received a comment as of this writing.
Fans have noticed that Alwyn hasn’t joined Swift at her Eras Tour over the past month but haven’t raised any suspicion knowing they’re notoriously private when it comes to their relationship.

Back in October, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Swift and Alwyn were “doing great” in their romance and their “relationship was super strong.”
The update came a few hours after the singer-songwriter dropped her 10th studio album, Midnights, followed by seven other songs in the surprise 3 am Edition of the record.
The 33-year-old herself confirmed that the opening track, “Lavender Haze,” was inspired by her romance with the actor and the lengths they went to “quiet the outside noise.”

Her 2017 song “Gorgeous” was also about the Conversation with Friends star.
Alwyn also got credits for the track “Sweet Nothing,” being listed on the Midnights album under the familiar name William Bowery.
He also contributed to the songs “Exile,” “Betty,” “Champagne Problems,” “Coney Island,” and “Evermore,” which were part of the 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore.
