Tammy Slaton has been drinking and partying in the previous episodes of 1000-Lb Sisters. When her siblings and bariatric surgeon confronted her about her unhealthy lifestyle, she would tell them that it was "self-love" and that she was battling depression, so she wanted to take a break from her weight loss efforts.

However, things have "taken a turn for the worse," according to her brother Chris.

Tammy realized that she had to work on her health and decided to be dropped at a weight-loss rehab facility. She had been struggling emotionally with depression and had been drinking heavily and vaping.

Chris and his wife, Britanny, dropped her off at the facility. However, they received a call that the TLC star "had quit breathing." The news brought fears to Tammy's family members.
