Taika Waititi's Jojo Rabbit Gets a Second Trailer

It may be a while before we get to see Taika Waititi's Thor: Love and Thunder in theaters, but we're getting his next film, Jojo Rabbit, next month. What's interesting is, we've got a new trailer for the movie that gives us a good look at Waititi's Nazi satire.

Here's the official description:

Writer-director Taika Waititi (THOR: RAGNAROK, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE), brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, JOJO RABBIT, a World War II satire that follows a lonely German boy (Roman Griffin Davis as JoJo) whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Adolf Hitler (Taika Waititi), Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Though a lot of people loved Thor: Ragnarok, I think Jojo Rabbit is closer to Waititi's signature style. The characters look completely kooky, but at the same time, you can sense there's a serious dramatic theme that the film is going to delve into.

Speaking of Thor, you'll also notice that MCU vet Scarlett Johansson is in the film; it may have also been a while since we've seen the character, but Sam Rockwell also played Justin Hammer way back in Iron Man 2. Stephen Merchant was also Caliban in Logan, but that isn't MCU at all, so I guess it doesn't count.

I'm excited to see Waititi come back to form with Jojo Rabbit, and I'm hoping some of his style here would bleed over to Love and Thunder when he starts working on it.

Thor: Love and Thunder comes out Nov. 5, 2021, but you can catch Jojo Rabbit when it hits theaters Oct. 18.
