In just a few more days, fans would witness the monumental return of Chris Hemsworth as the fan-beloved God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder. Alongside Hemsworth, the upcoming film will also see Natalie Portman's exhilarating transformation from Jane Foster to Lady Thor, while critically-acclaimed actor Christian Bale is set to debut as the villainous Gorr The God Butcher, who is driven to murder all the gods in the universe, and unluckily picked Thor as his latest victim.
However, prior to Thor: Love and Thunder's theatrical release, fans can't help to wonder what would happen next to the Thor franchise, including the possibility of Waititi and Hemsworth's Thor 5.
Luckily, Waititi appears to be extremely enthusiastic about doing more Thor films, which might positively cause Hemsworth to have a longer run in the MCU. "There's all these different versions of Thor in the comics as well," Waititi told Screenrant. "There's the sort of 70-year-old Thor, so [to Chris] get comfy. This is the rest of your life."
"This is it!" Hemsworth thrillingly added.
It's safe to say that Hemsworth evidently enjoys playing Thor throughout his extended run in the MCU. After all, he is the only Avenger who fortunately got a fourth solo film. More amazingly, it looks like Thor: Love and Thunder won't be Taika Waititi and Chris Hemsworth's last Thor project, and more storylines will still be explored for the God of Thunder.
Nevertheless, the box office performance along with the critic's reviews would dictate the future of the Thor franchise. While it appears that the upcoming film seemingly has no problems in terms of critics and box office projections, it's certainly delightful to know that both Waititi and Hemsworth are ready to do more films following Thor: Love and Thunder, as long as the fans continue to show the same level of enthusiasm for the franchise.
Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere in theaters on July 8.
