Taika Waititi Reprises His Role As Korg In New Promo For Marvel Contest Of Champions

Kiwi director Taika Waititi's pretty fond of giving himself cute little cameos in his many films, including his contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the colorful and bold Thor: Ragnarok. Not only did Waititi direct the third Thor film installment, he also played out the part of the rocky Kronan gladiator and revolutionist, Korg.

Now, it looks like Waititi's reprise the role in Marvel Contest of Champion's brand new Revolution 2.0 motion comic.

Posted by Marvel on their Marvel Contest of Champion's YouTube Channel, the new video which lasts for around three minutes tries to recruit new members to Korg's revolution. Starting out with Korg, we get to see recruitment officer Miek enlist Thor: Ragnarok's Valkyrie (played by Tessa Thompson in the film) and a three-headed alien that was also present in the movie (one of the heads was also Waititi's in Ragnarok too.)

Korg goes through a series of photos showing popular Marvel heroes like Heimdall, Black Widow, Iron Man, Wolverine, Groot, and a whole lot of others. Three are picked at random – Red Skull, Heimdall, and Original Doug.

It's a pretty cute video – though it doesn't really tell us what happened to Korg after Avengers: Infinity War. The last time we saw the revolutionary was at the very end of Thor: Ragnarok on board the Asgardian's ship headed towards Earth. Unfortunately, at the very beginning of Infinity War, Thanos attacks the ship and slaughters the Asgardians, including Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Heimdall (Idris Elba). If it's any consolation, Korg, and Valkyrie where nowhere to be found during the Asgardian Massacre, so there's a chance that the two might still be alive. We'll just have to wait and see.

Avengers 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
