Boys’ Love fans are in for a treat next year as a sweet new BL series is confirmed to release in 2024. Following its initial announcement, the BL anime Tadaima, Okaeri confirmed its 2024 TV release in Japan.
The show’s 2024 release was confirmed via a recent update on the anime’s official website. Along with the release, some staff members working on the series have been revealed.
There are lots of BL anime being released every year, but fans will want to put this show on their watch list as it’s quite different from your usual BL anime.
Tadaima, Okaeri Is Not Your Average BL Series
Many BL anime are set in school and follow the blossoming first love between two high school guys. Such is the case with BL titles like Sasaki and Miyano and Given.
Meanwhile, Tadaima, Okaeri is not like your high school BL romance series. It follows the family life of two guys as they balance their work and family life with their son.
Tadaima, Okaeri is a manga series by Ichi Ichikawa that began in the Omegaverse Project anthology series back in 2015.
The series follows Masaki Fujiyoshi and Hiromu, a couple in Japan. Masaki is a stay-at-home husband with confidence issues. Meanwhile, Hiromu is a dedicated salaryman. The couple also has a two-year-old son named Hikari.
Its story is a chill and comfy slice-of-life tale as it follows the two as they blossom into their family roles. Of course, it’s not all rainbows and sunshine, but the series is still a refreshing take on the BL genre.

Tadaima, Okaeri TV Anime to Be Released in 2024
The manga’s anime adaptation was announced back in September. At the time, no other info about the anime was revealed.
Finally, a new update on the show’s website confirmed that the anime will be a TV series by Studio Deen that will air in Japan sometime in 2024.
Along with its release window, Tadaima, Okaeri also got a new key visual that features Masaki and Hiromu together with their adorable son, Hikari.
This visual was shared on the show’s website and its official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Finally, some of its key staff members were announced. These include director Shinji Ishihira (Fairy Tail), scriptwriter Yoshiko Nakamura (Sasaki and Miyano), and character designer Mina Osawa (School Babysitters).
Tadaima, Okaeri has no specific release date or window yet. Given that there’s no trailer yet, it’s likely that it will be released in the second half of next year.
