Swamp Thing Star Thinks the DC Universe Show Could Make a Comeback

Many consider it a shame that DC Universe canceled Swamp Thing after only 10 episodes and one season. The show would have helped set up a Justice League Dark series, at least if those rumors are true, and was a quality series in its own right. While most of us are sad that we might never see the conclusion of this series, there are fans who are hoping that we eventually get a second season.

Ian Ziering, who plays Blue Devil in the series, also has hope that the series will be coming back from the dead. During an interview with SyFy Wire, Ziering said "I think it's entirely possible," for the series to come back. After all, if shows like Lucifer and Young Justice can come back after a ton of fan support, there's no reason for Swamp Thing to stay dead.

The cancelation of this show continues to be one of the most baffling things to happen in recent entertainment history. Considering all of the praise this show has gotten from fans and critics alike, you would think that DC would have at least extended it for a few more episodes. They could have also given the first season a more conclusive ending so that fans wouldn't be so hung up on it.

Honestly, as someone who likes the character, it really is a shame that Swamp Thing-related material keeps getting canceled. The show was great but we don't know why it was canned. Guillermo del Toro had to leave Justice League Dark, which also would have featured the creature in a leading role. Will we ever see more of The Protector of The Green?

Swamp Thing can currently be streamed on DC Universe.
