Scarecrow has already made his presence felt on the big screen via Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, but there's no denying that a villain like him would be a logical inclusion in Matt Reeves' similarly grounded The Batman universe. Now that a sequel is officially in the works under James Gunn and Peter Safran's "Elseworlds", DC fans are hopeful that a brand new iteration of the Jonathan Crane character is on its way.
Well, it looks like Reeves' work is already cut out for him as one actor is already putting his name on the list of potential candidates for the villainous role. Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Vecna in the Stranger Things franchise has expressed his interest in taking on the Scarecrow role in The Batman Part II.
Appearing at Kuwait's Comfest Con 2023 (via Comicbook), the 34-year-old star said he'd like to take a crack at the compelling Batman villain. Bower shared: "There's been a lot of chatter about Scarecrow recently, that would be cool. To do that, that would be fun. Very spooky, that would be great!"

The Batman's closing moments already teased Barry Keoghan's Joker as the sequel's main villain so we're not quite sure if Scarecrow could end up getting added to the mix, especially with The Penguin and Riddler still looming in Gotham. But despite the first film having an overabundance of antagonists, Reeves was somehow able to make things work although personally, I'd like to see him tone down a bit when it comes to Batman's rogues' gallery.
Matt Reeves' The Batman Part II is currently slated for release in theaters on October 3, 2025.
