Fans who have been hoping to see Stranger Things Season 4 are in for some disappointing news. Finn Wolfhard has just revealed that the next season of the beloved series might be delayed to 2022.
There is little doubt that people have been expecting to watch Stranger Things Season 4 this year. After all, it was previously confirmed that the new season will not premiere in 2020 while the new episodes are being filmed. Unfortunately, production had to be halted due to COVID-19.
But we can still expect Stranger Things to return before the end of the year, right? Unfortunately, that might not be happening. Wolfhard recently took part in a Fanmio video chat (via Twitter) with his fans where he revealed that Season 4 won't air until 2022.
"Season 4? It should be out sometime next year, hopefully," Wolfhard said.
This is disappointing news but also understandable considering that certain precautions need to be taken with filming. After all, safety is important during the pandemic era. It might be a slow process for Stranger Things Season 4 but we're hoping that the young cast stays safe.
For now, there are no updates from Netflix about the Stranger Things Season 4 release date. However, we're hoping that there will be a teaser or some news about the show's return in the next few weeks. Hopefully, an update will be dropped soon.
