In the X-Men: The Animated Series that ran from 1992 to 1997, Ororo Munroe (aka Storm) sports long flowing white hair. But in X-Men '97, Storm has ditched that for a mohawk.

So why did Storm get a haircut in X-Men '97?

In a blog post, Marvel Comics shared that X-Men '97's revival "will show what these characters have been up to in the time before their return."

The blog also released teaser images of what to expect from the series. Aside from a new haircut, Storm can be seen wearing a pantsuit.

The other photos show that Storm will continue wearing her iconic outfit from X-Men: The Animated Series along with her new haircut.

When Storm's character made its debut in the comics franchise, she had long flowing hair. But in the 70s, Storm had a change in her appearance.

In the next decade, her character had gone through several changes before her feminine look was retained in the 80s.

A fan theory even suggested that Storm's hair gets shorter with every movie. Of course, this is about the live-action adaptation of the character.

It's possible that in X-Men '97, Storm has a more leadership role, which explains her edgier hairstyle. This is because, in the comics, Storm cut her hair when she was changing.

While she started as a feminine character, she has gone on to accept turning herself into a warrior, one who is more confident with herself.
