Steven Spielberg's DC Film Blackhawks Still in Development


It has been three years since it was announced that Steven Spielberg would produce a feature film that will adapt a DC Comics property titled Blackhawks under Warner Brothers. The movie is made through Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment and he will be directing the film.

Blackhawk first came out in Quality Comics in 1941 before DC Comics took over in 1957. Blackhawk is the leader of the Blackhawk Squadron in the comics. The Blackhawk Squadron is an elite group of pilots who fought in World War II.



Spielberg's movie will be titled Blackhawk. The screenplay is written by David Koepp who previously worked with Spielberg on the movies such as War of the Worlds, Indiana Jones, the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Jurassic Park, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park.

There were no other updates regarding the film ever since it was initially announced. However, fans were able to spot an image on social media that scriptwriter Koepp shared a few months ago. In the photo, it shows that he is still working on the Blackhawk script.

Warner Brothers chairman Toby Emmerich previously talked about the project He stated that the studio is proud to be the one behind Steven Spielberg's latest hit film Ready Player One. They are thrilled to work with him on a new action-adventure. Emmerich further added that they are excited to see the "new ground" Spielberg will break with Blackhawk.

Based on the image that Koepp shared, it proves that the film is still in development. In the hands of people with creative direction, they can surely achieve great things with the movie.
