Star Wars: The Mandalorian Fan Theory Suggests Baby Yoda is a Time-Traveler

Star Wars: The Mandalorian might have completed its first batch of episodes on Disney+, but there are still a lot of questions surrounding the series, especially when it comes to the fan-favorite child, Baby Yoda.

Where exactly does Baby Yoda come from? Is the child related to Yoda at all? What does Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) want to do with Baby Yoda?

Now that they have time on their hands with the COVID-19 lockdown in full swing, Star Wars fans have been taking to social media to share their theories about Baby Yoda's origin.

One of the most recent Baby Yoda fan theories to make its way online has an interesting explanation for the Child – Baby Yoda is Yoda himself stuck in a time loop.

Taking note of The World Between Worlds introduced in Star Wars Rebels, Reddit user DarthP1agueis suggests that Baby Yoda could be Yoda himself stuck in a time loop in The Mandalorian.

It might seem a little bit farfetched, however, there have been elements of time-travel in Star Wars canon, specifically when Ezra Bridger enters the World Between Worlds in Rebels.

Time travel might be one of the main reasons why Lucasfilm is thinking of bringing Ahsoka Tano into the second season of The Mandalorian. According to the fan theory, Lucasfilm needs Ahsoka to explain to Mando (Pedro Pascal) that Baby Yoda's been stuck in a time loop. Together with Mando, Ahsoka will set Baby Yoda to the time where he belongs so that he can properly live out his life as Yoda.

It's an interesting fan theory to say the least. What do you think? Is Baby Yoda really Yoda? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
