Star Wars The Last Jedi: How Rey's Training Foreshadowed Kylo's Duel with Luke

Though a good chunk of Star Wars fans didn't like The Last Jedi, the film undoubtedly has a lot of work put into the tiniest details. It's been months since the release, and people are still finding some neat easter eggs and sharing them online. The latest one points out that Rey's short training bit on Ach-To actually mirrors Kylo Ren's battle with Luke Skywalker on Crait.

Check this out:

As you can see, Rey's movements against the rock are very similar to those of Kylo's when he's facing Luke (or rather Luke's projection) during the film's climax. While this is a fun bit of foreshadowing, it also kind of emphasizes on the bond that Kylo and Rey share—with Kylo being the vessel of the Dark Side, and Rey the Light.

With Episode IX set to start filming this month, I hope that J.J. Abrams and Chris Terrio come up with a fantastic script to follow-up to The Last Jedi. Though a good chunk of fans didn't react nicely to the film, I absolutely loved everything about it. I was even kind of bummed that Rian Johnson wasn't directing this last movie.

For now, Star Wars: The Last Jedi is available for home video. Star Wars Episode IX comes out Dec. 20, 2019.
